Desolation

Image
You're going to walk hand in hand, one day, In a frenzy neighborhood. Not a lifetime ago, Three wasn't a crowd. High-five-ing, not social distancing. But getting to catch up with family, Doesn't sound miserable. Desolation is for the ones, Left all alone in a room. None to call 'a family'. Some lost a dear one, Other bade goodbye to a Grandma from afar, While an owner's passion shut down. Can you hear the hunger? A stomach growling, Two meals has already been skipped. Our world is in great distress. Perhaps, time is the only hope. Sufferings are yet to be abolished. A day without fear, Is it nearing by?

Be more with less

Hello everyone! How is quarantine treating you so far? Did you put on your productive suit and checked off one of the items from your to-do list? Yes? Okay, you are a saint. And to the rest, I'd request to hop on the party of procrastination with me.  Let me ask you a question first. What do you think about minimalism? I have a bittersweet relationship with this term. The idea fascinates me, but when it comes to practice I'm quite the procrastinator. It takes a certain level of intention to unplug, to peel away from our screens, to pause the busyness of our day to day and devote ourselves to the slow and simple things.  When we see a piece of clothing, the urge to own it in our collection sets the bar. We buy clothes relentlessly. Trends come and go, we end up with a pile of clothes. As I'm saying this I raise my hand as one of the culprits. Minimalism has never crossed our minds. Belongings are useless unless we can make a good source out of it. In this age, we talk ...

Do the fall trees  Wait for an epiphany? Or seek validation? Wind howls, leaves shed. And yet stand tall, With utter grace amongst her folk. And before you realize Spring has sprung magic. Flower blooms, fruit buds. Baby leaf on it's way, Waiting for the gentle wind. And they're pretty again. But what did the wind say? "It'll get better with time, my friend." And the fall tree beamed  Basking under the morning sun.  Spreading joyous laughter To the chirping little ones, Shading the occasional visitors.

I told you, Can't be her. Can't settle for ordinary. Chaos in my soul, In an estranged stature. Clumsy in my habitat, Never feared nonacceptance. Always walked the streets, Like any other proud woman But you don't recognize them. Raised myself by seeding thoughts. My Belief shapes me as a human, Not that your opinion matters, But I welcome them with warm love. Mere thoughts can swallow my mind. Can I let such emotions devour me? Or shall I wait for your validation? Never needed it, nor I ever will. You can abash me all you want But hey, you have my love. I will welcome you to my abode Anytime that you're blue.

Was it easy to let it fall off your grip? How hard did the sand try? Could you hold it hard enough? To freeze, the time! ‘Be confident’ they motivate. ‘Was it easy?’ I ask. The nights aren’t the best, days aren’t the worst either. Don’t hesitate, swim across. Perhaps you’d drown, o feel the warmth of the sun. Schrodinger’s cat either lives or it doesn’t. Try or let it fall onto ‘one of the regrets’ Tomorrow is not promised, today is worth the risk. ‘Confidence’ is the key, with head held high. Peel your eyes open, see through the probable. How blue can it get to itch out from the core? Anxiety may stretch your legs while entering the black holes. It may condemn to discover the wildest vulnerability. Come out like an winner, misread the orthodox. Bloom like the flower you were gifted. The bee might even settle for the leaves, when you aren't at the best. ...

Shrieks

Watching over the giant windows, two birds racing along the Cross at the tip of the church. One moving past another,’May be they are having a fight’ she thought. That was her earliest memory after she woke up at the hospital bed. Startled! Couldn't move an inch, searching for a voice. Amid all the strength she could not gather a word. She could drown, she was suffocated, and each breathes seemed like a struggle to inhale. The birds flying unusually, still making uncertain movements. One of them could make it to the tip of the cross, while the other lashed out of anger and shrieked through the window and collided on the bed to reach out to her struggling mere voices. She woke up with a thud and screamed out of discomposure. Not because she was terrified, she made sure she did not lose her voice. Later that night she could not fall asleep. She tried, but she failed. The morning as she was getting ready, she could not get over the nightmare. She put her make up on, slipped in...

When you were gone

“I am waiting for someone”, I replied as the waitress approached for the order. Scrolling through my ‘gram feed, relentlessly sitting all by myself for the last 10 mins. I gaze through the doors every time someone enters the restaurant, “Not her” After 12 years of friendship you tend to catch up on someone's habitual behavior.. well, can't help it. If every time I had a dollar for her being late, I'd be a millionaire. That's my best friend everyone, story of my Life. As she makes entrance with that big wide smile on her face, I could sense some news. She sat next to me, and apologized for being late. I mean.. what's new with that custom, right? She gifts me a mug, as the day demands one on the occasion of friendship day. Now, the entire 'late’ situation is being explained. “On 3rd September I will be leaving for China. I got the confirmation letter couple of days ago and tickets are booked.” She said with utter excitement on her eyes. I was left ...

A Damsel In Distress.

Rain dripping down the leaves, clattering down the windshields, there she was walking down the lane with her headphones on tuning to the beats of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. He laid his gaze on her across the street, intoxicating was her vibe. She didn't turn around, she knew he was being drenched. She cared, but walked away. That's the girl she have always been. Many people think they have known her well enough, but they only knew her from a keyhole. Yeah, she's just another pretty looking girl, a dutiful girl of her parents, who doesn't outrage their expectations, mediocre as she have always been in her studies, miserably in a complicated  relationship with partner called Life. As she walked by, he just stood there like everyday , Waiting with his mere expectations to take a new turn. He knew there was so much more to unveil in her, he was aware that she is just not a pretty face, but an ocean of emotion.. a valley of wilderness, isolated by her impec...
